Serving Looks, Layers & Legendary Sweets
Once Upon a Whisk...
Queen City Cakes was born from a love of bold flavours, beautiful design, and unapologetic creativity. What began as one boy, one big dream, and a whole lot of butter in a kitchen quickly rose into Regina’s "go to spot" for desserts and sweets that taste just as good as they look.
It all started with a desk, and a landlord willing to take a chance. No investors, no team, just passion, persistence, and piping bags.
From that tiny space, Queen City Cakes began to rise (literally and figuratively), proving that sometimes, all it takes is one yes, and a fearless amount of frosting.
We’re here to shake up everything you thought a bakery could be, proudly local, always extra (in the best way), and never afraid to serve looks and layers.
We Leveled Up...
Growing Queen City Cakes wasn’t all buttercream and rainbows. It took late nights, endless redos, and the unwavering support of the team, friends and family, often rolling up their sleeves right alongside us. While others admired the end result, many underestimated the grit behind the glitter. Some even tried to mimic the magic without realizing the work (and wild hours) it actually takes to make it look this effortless.
But we stayed focused, pushed harder, and kept building, even when our work was undervalued or overlooked. That drive? It paid off. From one kitchen dream, we expanded into two locations: a satellite store inside Garden Architecture in Saskatoon and our second home in Regina’s historic Avord Building.
Turns out, the secret ingredient was perseverance, passion and precision all along.
Proof’s in the Pudding and the Press...
We’ve had our fair share of spotlight, from dazzling the judges on Food Network’s Big Bake to showing off our flavour chops on CityTV’s Flat Out Food. We’ve chatted it up on John Gormley’s Radio Show, spilled the tea on Chatty with Kathy (Access Radio), and served cake realness on CTV Regina and Global Regina. Named “Best Cake”by Prairie Dog (since we were established) and crowned “Best New Business Venture” by the Paragon Awards, Queen City Cakes isn’t just a bakery, we’re a whole moment.
From Whisk to Wow...
There was a secret quietly waiting in the background, one that took its sweet, sweet time to reveal itself. As we said goodbye to our Saskatoon and second Regina locations, people started to wonder, was that it? Had the cake cooled?
But let’s be honest, when Queen City Cakes goes quiet, it’s only because something even bigger is baking.
And now here we are, in a bakery wrapped in European glamour, nestled inside the revived historic Turgeon House (closing our former Brownstone location). This stunning transformation came to life through the vision of Jared Bugyi (Queen City Cakes Visionary & Owner), the talent of brilliant architects, some seriously amazing contractors, and a touch of magic from the design collaboration between Brittany Gogel (who definitely deserves a standing ovation) and Jared Bugyi.
We opened something even Regina wasn’t ready for, and yes, we were the first (again) to turn a bakery into an experience so Instagrammable it made headlines. But behind the beauty and the buzz is good old-fashioned teamwork. From our front of house charmers to our back of house baking legends, we know it takes everyone to make the magic happen.
So come by, soak up the vibe, snap a pic, and taste the pizzazz of Regina, the Queen City Cakes way.
